Secured $808k in CIIP funding to transform the Caledonian Hall into a modern mental health facility
selectability is one of regional Queensland's largest providers of mental health and suicide prevention services, supporting individuals and communities across northern, central and western Queensland for more than 40 years. As North Queensland's leading NDIS provider for mental health services, selectability employs over 800 staff and supports more than 1,500 consumers.
selectability identified a critical need in the Burdekin region for accessible mental health and suicide prevention services. The organisation had purchased the iconic but unused Caledonian Hall in Ayr, with a vision to transform it into a mental health hub and suicide prevention safe haven. However, they required funding support to undertake the necessary renovations and upgrades to create a fit-for-purpose facility.
Enablen worked closely with selectability to develop a comprehensive funding application for the Queensland Government's Community Infrastructure Investment Partnership (CIIP) program. Our team:
- Analysed the CIIP program objectives and guidelines to ensure strong alignment between the funding criteria and selectability's project;
- Developed a detailed project plan demonstrating how the renovation would create a multi-purpose facility offering vital community services;
- Built a compelling case showing how the project would address critical mental health needs and support employment in the region;
- Prepared comprehensive documentation including budgets, timelines and evidence of community support.
selectability successfully secured $808k in CIIP funding to transform the Caledonian Hall into a modern mental health facility. This funding enabled:
- Complete renovation of the facility with full disability access;
- Creation of consultation rooms for counselling services;
- Establishment of training rooms for mental health and community services qualifications;
- Development of spaces for group programs and community activities;
- Installation of modern amenities including a commercial kitchen.
The renovated facility is supporting the Burdekin community with much-needed mental health services, suicide prevention programs, and training opportunities.
By understanding both the funder's objectives and our client's vision, Enablen helped secure a successful funding outcome that will deliver lasting benefits to the Burdekin community.
